The Ylläs-Levi MTb route starts from the nature centre Kellokas along the official mountain biking route down towards the village of Äkäslompolo. It follows the shoreline of Äkäslompolojärvi turning right towards Nilivaara and from there onwards to Kukastunturi for the longest incline on this route (4,3km).
After reaching the top of Kukastunturi the route takes you down to Kotamaja. The journey continues along the gorge between Lainio and Pyhätunturi to the southern end of Pyhäjärvi lake.
From the lake you will pedal along the lower slopes of Aakenustunturi to the Äkäslompolo-Kittilä road. After crossing the bridge over Aakenusjoki-river the route follows the gravel road to the Lappish hut of Aakenusjärvi. From here you will continue via Homevaara along the forest path south of Pyhä- and Kätkä fells towards Immeljärvi lake. The last part of the journey is pedalled along the scenic route of Levi fell to the centre of the village of Levi.
