- Descent along the Cotswold Way through Frith Wood/Claypit Wood can be a bit challenging when wet.
- Similarly, the descent from Tresham down to Holwell Farm (Ozleworth Bottom) needs to be approached with care. Trail surface has deteriorated, and features a gulley that may trap unwary wheels.
Tips and hints
- The section through the farm at Tresham is routed west along unclassified road towards Alderley for 200m then turn right along the "other route with public access" through Tresham Farm.

Turn-by-turn directions
- Turn right out of the carpark onto Symn Lane
- At cross road turn right onto Hawe Street
- Follow to T Junction
- T junction, bear right on to Old Town
- Follow Old Town around to the war memorial roundabout
- Bear right at the roundabout onto School Road
- Follow along onto Dyersbrook and continue along through Wortley to Alderley
- Alderley - take 3rd turning on left, restricted byeway, to join the Cotswold Way.
- Cotswold Way - follow to where the Cotswold Way meets Kilcott Road
- Kilcott Road - leave Cotswold Way and bear right to Hillesley
- Highstreet - bear left pass the Fleece Inn and follow the High Street out of Hillesley to Monument Farm
- Turn left onto the Cotswold Way through Frith Wood and Claypit Wood
- Follow the Cotswold Way left through Lower Kilcott past Lower Kilcott Farm Fishing
- Bear right following the Cotswold Way until it reaches the Monarchs Way
- Monarchs Way - go straight onto the Monarchs way (leaving the Cotswold Way where it turns left)
- Road Junction - bear left towards Alderley for 200m then turn right onto track through Tresham Farm
- Tresham Farm - Follow track to Ozleworth Bottom. Take care. Trail surface has deteriorated, and features a gulley that will trap unwary wheels!
- Road junction - Hillmill Lane. Bear right - route is onroad now until Blackquarries Hill
- Ozleworth. Park Lane - Bear left towards Wotton to meet Blackquarries Hill at T junction
- T Junction - Bear left onto Blackquarries Hill
- Cotswold Way - Fork left and follow Cotswold Way for half a mile
- Leave Cotswold Way - Stay ahead onto bridleway down Tor Hill to meet roadway in 3/4 mile
- T junction - Bear right onto Wortley Road and follow into Wotton as far as Ludgate Hill
- Ludgate Hill - Bear left
- Clarence Road - Turn left back to start
