Within spitting distance of Edinburgh, this route provides a good mix of riding with fun singletrack and great views of the city. There’s lots more to explore here too.

Follow the Great Glen road/track to Glencorse Reservoir, keeping straight ahead and crossing a little bridge. Shortly after this, go through the gate on the right, signposted to Bonaly. Go uphill on a stretch of doubletrack, keeping right at the fork. Go through another gate and along a section of singletrack to Bonaly Reservoir.
Follow the right-hand side of a wood for a short while, then turn left through a gate on to a stretch of doubletrack that heads downhill to a gate into the woods. Go through this and turn left, on to a technical trail. Follow this to the edge of the wood, then turn right, on to a path up Torduff Hill. Continue straight ahead until you reach the dip, then head right on a grassy track.
Go through the bushes, straight ahead, until you reach the main track. Go left, uphill, then shortly afterwards turn left on a singletrack trail that crosses the track and heads round Torduff Hill. Follow this downhill to a gate at Torduff Reservoir. Go through this, over the dam and then left, alongside it. Then follow the Tarmac track up to Clubbiedean Reservoir.
Follow this track to a T-junction in Middle Kinleith. Go left, then, at the crossroads, turn left on to a section of doubletrack (there’s some singletrack in the woods on the left), uphill. Go through a gate to a T-junction. Turn right, downhill towards Harlaw Reservoir. Bear left at the fork in a field shortly past a gate. Go alongside the trees and wall, over a stile/wall and through a gate.
Go left on the other side and around, then over, the weir. Head left alongside Threipmuir Reservoir. Shortly after a private track/bridge on the left, keep ahead on a stretch of singletrack that heads into a wood as the main track bears right. At the road on the other side, go left.
Head over Redford Bridge and continue uphill to a T-junction at the top. Go left, then right, past Bavelaw Castle and through a gate on to the moor. Take the wide grass track to the left, over the top, which turns into singletrack. Follow this to a gate at the base of the hills. Continue through the valley to Loganlea Reservoir. Take the track on the left-hand side of the reservoir. Turn right at the end of Glencorse Reservoir, back to the start.
