A big day out in the mountains on less-trodden trails, with some hike-a-bike sections and technical riding, and one of the best descents ever to finish.

Distance 27.7 km
Continue along the Tarmac track for 400m, then turn right through a gate by a barn on to a good, wide track along the valley bottom. Follow this obvious track for 6km to the house/ shelter at the end.
Bear left on the singletrack trail past the house and keep left, watching out for water bars, which will start appearing regularly now. Cross two bridges – the second over a deep ravine – and follow the rocky singletrack uphill to the right.
This trail demands a bit of hike-a-bike at times but becomes more and more ridable as it passes Camban Bothy and descends to the river, where a number of valleys meet. Go towards the river, almost past the bridge on the left, but then turn hard left back to a faint piece of singletrack. Cross it and follow the left-hand side of the river.
Just before a rickety wooden plank bridge, turn sharply left on a faint section of singletrack alongside the water. Follow this up the valley, where it becomes a good stone-based trail with numerous water bars. Keep ahead as the trail fades (and gets boggy, if wet).
Keep left at Loch a’Bhealaich and climb (push) up the pass. The descent is technical to start but becomes more ridable. Keep right at the fork, down a track filled with hairpin bends. Follow this excellent trail downhill and then along the valley bottom. Pass through a gate and over a bridge, and follow the track left. Head over another bridge and turn right, on a track that becomes Tarmac, back to the car park.
