Corfe Castle southwest to Swyre Head, returning vi

This short ride is packed with all the best ingredients: challenging climbs on firm surfaces, woodland, panoramic views from Swyre Head, the highest point on the Dorset coast, broad tracks over chalk downland, a tricky descent, an open grassy descent and not a lot of gloopy mud. And then there are the cream teas to look forward to back in Corfe Castle. Particularly satisfying is the way you can see the whole course of the ride from either of the two ridges which form the northern and southern sides of the route.

Parking: Large car park on the street leading from opposite Bankes Arms Hotel.
Nearest Railway: Wareham, 5 miles northwest of Corfe Castle.
