A long ride with 90% on road or cycle paths.
This ride is mostly roads interspersed with a few tracks. Highlights include the Grand Union Canal, the now disused Nickey Line (excellent for cycling) and Ashridge forest.
The toughest hills are the climb out of Berkhamsted near the beginning (on road) and towards the end the bridle path up into Ashridge forest, which may be muddy in the winter. A light bike is an advantage as there are 3 lots of steps to climb!
