This 2-3 day bikepacking trip brings you from Mt. Olympus to Nicosia via three long and pretty challenging trails. Great views of the island and pretty villages are included. Uphill is mostly via highways with little traffic. The downhill and trails sections are in little travelled areas (at least when I was there in Spring time).
The two trails down from Mt Olympus and the one after Lazania are quite technical (S1-S2). Especially if you have bickepacking equipment with you expect to get off the bike every now and then. The last climb after Lazania requires to carry your bike steep up the hill on a vaguely marked path. But the trail that follows justifies all of the effort...
For staying overnight, there are great options to put up a tent at the upper part of the second trail down Mt. Olympus. Alternatively, there is a hotel at Troodos or Karvounas. Don't miss to stop in the villages to enjoy the great food and a good coffee.
Best time of year
Be well prepared and self-sufficient on the trails. Do not expect anybody will be around there to help in case of an emergency.

For the second trail down Mt. Olympus, and for the trail after Lazania, just always follow the "E4" signposts.

Public transport friendly
The tour can be made as a round trip from Nicosia with public transport. Take the bus BΔ9 to Evrichou (http://www.osel.com.cy/?wp=routedetails_en&route=%CE%92%CE%9409) and get out at Galata. Bike transport is possible with the buses.
On the way back, the last 20-30 kms after Kalo Chorio are not very interesting. It is all about coming back to where you started (Nicosia). Alternatively, public transport or a taxi could be considered as an option from Kalo Chorio.
