You will start your trip on the skiing track and after a while move into single-tracklike conditions. You will encounter some more difficult bridges and some narrow paths covered in roots blended with stretches of dirt road, which enables you to rest your legs. Total length of trip is around 10km.
The route starts at Kållby-Heimbacka school, where you can park your car and start your mountain bike trip. The route is rated easy but with some more technically difficult sections. It is a fun track which takes most people around one hour to finish.
Please note that this trail is used for several different purposes. Mountain biking is one activity that is commonly exercised on the Kållby trail, but you can also encounter, among others, trail runners and hikers along this route. Mountain biking and trail running, however, are two officially recommended activities by the municipality of Pedersöre.

Public transport
There are a few buses from Pietarsaari / Jakobstad during the weekdays that stop at Heimbackanreitti / Heimbackaleden. The bus stop is located around 450 meter from the start of the trail.
In order to check up-to-date schedules for the bus connections when traveling from Jakobstad / Pietarsaari, please visit Matkahuolto, choose English (in the top right hand corner), and enter Jakobstad or Pietarsaari into the "From"-field, and Heimbackaleden (Pedersöre) into the "To"-field.
