Varied MTB tour to the picturesque Seebergsee lake
A scenically impressive round tour to the idyllically situated Seebergsee lake in the middle of the Spillgerten nature reserve. On the not-so-easy descent from the Stiereberg, a short distance away, into the valley, we experience the greatest riding pleasure.

Distance 26.1 km
On asphalt roads, the route climbs steadily up to the Gestelen Pass, which connects the Diemtigtal with the Obersimmental. After a short descent and another climb, we finally reach the picturesque Seebergsee. The romantic mountain lake with its unique flora and fauna invites you to linger. Across gentle alpine meadows and accompanied by a fantastic panorama, we continue to the nearby Stiereberg, where we can fortify ourselves for the descent. Initially over partly washed-out single trails, later over rough cart tracks, we reach the valley in a roaring ride back.

Turn-by-turn directions
Start the tour at Grubenwald station. Cross the Simme and follow the gravel path to the left. Immediately after the junction with the road, turn left again onto the gravel path. Soon join the road coming up from Grubenwald. Follow this road via Brand and the Gestelen Pass (1851 m) to Untergestelen (approx. 1600 m). From here first on asphalt, later on gravel to Seebergsee (1831 m). Continue on gravel road to the Stierenbergsee restaurant (1882 m, refreshments available) on the Stiereberg. Via trail and finally gravel path to the Under Muntigli alpine hut. Through the Mariedgrabe to Mannried. On asphalt paths to Grubenwald and back to the station.
As there are also many hikers and walkers around the Seebergsee on weekends when the weather is fine, we should ride with particular consideration here.
