From Eisenkappel to Roblek Alm

This round tour you can start either in Eisenkappel / Železna Kapla or above, on Jezersko sedlo / Seeberg Sattel. It all depends when you want to do the major part of ascent - in the beginning, or at the end.
The main route is not very frequented, so you can use it for the ascent as well. If that bothers you, you can also to the tour in the opposite direction - counterclockwise.
On the tour you will experience several natural and cultural points of interest and make a very nice outing.

Turn-by-turn directions
From Eisenkappel / Železna Kapla (A) you ride by the main road southwards. In the beginning it ascends only gently. Even before reaching Vellach/Bela, you will notice left beyond the creek a 12 meters high fresque of St. Christophorus, the patron of traders and travellers. Then you continue biking up, past the village of Vellach/Bela the road starts ascending in many turns. It gets steeper and very panoramic as well. Just below the road pass you can also make a short stop by the source of mineral water.
Jezerski vrh / Seebergsattel, 1218 m, is one of the main road passes over the Karawanks range. There you leave the main road and take a steep macadam road, which soon starts crossing the slopes of Kärntner Storschitz / Pristovški Storžič, by the Slovenian territory. On OpenStreet map it's drawn as a cart-road and I had to draw this route section by hand-drawing, but the road is good and you can ride it all the time. It brings you on the broad and nice Roblek alpine meadow (C) - the majority of it lies on the Austrian side of the main mountain ridge.
On Roblek meadow the road makes a big turn rigt and then starts quickly descending northwards - you are getting down into the remote, forrested valley of Trögern/Korte. The valley center is at Pristovnik farm, where also a cute church stands (F). It's interesting that this valley was in the past more connected with Jezersko resort, so across the mountain ridge, until the Pristovnik undertook building the road along the creek, which cuts its way out of the valley. On the descent, the road will bring you some 100 meters below the church, but it's very worth riding up and visit the nice place!
In continuation, the road brings down to the creek (Trögernbach / Korški potok) and you continue riding down the valley. You will soon notice many explanatory tables. The whole gorge is a natural park, protected due to its special geological, botanic features and generally nice nature. Do as many stops you wish to experience the nice place!
The valley of Trögern/Korte ends below by opening into the main valley below Obir mountain. There you hit the main road, turn right and in a comfortable descent follow it down to Eisenkappel / Železna Kapla. This town is worth of exploring itself, so devote some time to it as well!
