RadLust MTB Trail WaldMeister

The first section leads from the Rothenburg hut with entry near the lookout tower, via the cross-country (XC) course created by the TV Birkenfeld bike pirates in 2016, down into the Hambach valley. The 155 metres in altitude down into the valley, some of which are quite steep, lead over A and B lines through a mixed forest over challenging sections.

After crossing the L 174 at the Oberhambach Sauerbrunnen and the Hambach over a bridge, the route then returns to Rinzenberg territory through a coniferous forest with technically demanding climbs of 20 to 50 metres in altitude over narrow trails and quite moderate descents back into the Zauberwald.

Now follows one of the most technically demanding trails with 130 metres of altitude difference, which must be mastered both conditionally and technically. Narrow steep bends, very demanding, winding and hilly climbs challenge the skills and stamina of the riders to the limit.

Once this has been achieved, you reach a technical training area of the bike pirates. After crossing the K 15, the route goes over a forestry trail section that offers a little time to catch one's breath. Afterwards, the Waldmeister leads over extremely challenging smaller trail sections back onto a longer forestry connecting section. After crossing the Sprudelstraße, you reach one of the most beautiful and flowing sections. Before that, however, there is a small extra lap with around 100 metres of altitude to complete and another connecting section to enjoy breathing in the fresh forest air.

What follows is a masterpiece. Over flowing, beautiful and fast 250 metres in altitude, the pulse of the pilots can beat faster.

To finish, the track leads over agricultural paths, through a short forest section, past two ponds, through Schwollen, over further agricultural and meadow paths with beautiful scenic views back up through Hattgenstein past the local cemetery to the starting point at the Rothenburg hut.

In the evening, you can enjoy a snack in a cosy and rustic atmosphere.
