Col de la Givrine

This day tour takes us from Nyon along the French border to the Jura ridge, circling the summit of La Dôle clockwise. At the Col de la Givrine, we cross the road and railway from Nyon into France, then return to Nyon east of these trassés.
From Nyon station, the route climbs gently at first to Vésenex-Crassy, then follows an ascent of 900 metres in altitude with a gradient of 10-12% almost throughout. Over the Jura heights we cross to the north side with the picturesque pasture area of Grand Sonnailley and then up again to Reculet Dessus, where we cross the chairlift that leads up to the Dôle. Through the ski area we now descend to the Col de la Givrine and then climb one last time to the highest point of this tour, but flatter this time. At the foot of the Crêt des Danses, we turn off and now have a descent of over 20 kilometres to Nyon ahead of us, partly along the valley of the La Combe.
