The mild climate in the Lake Constance basin extends a little into the Rhine valley and ensures mild temperatures and short winters in the valley areas. However, the round tour over the ridge of the "Hohe Kugel" leads up to almost 1,600 m and through the Schuttannen ski area and is therefore a thoroughly strenuous undertaking that should not be started too early in the year. A long, sweaty ascent leads up to the ridge, where there are several places to stop for refreshments. A varied ride and a short pushing passage on the descent finally lead past the Löwenzähnen, a climbing area of the Hohenems climbing specialists, and back to the Rhine valley via beautiful paths. <p
