The growth in popularity of long distance cycling, along with the growth of MTB riders, has encouraged the development of 1800 km long round MTB trail around Slovenia, that opened in 2016. It leads past 109 control points, on which you can collect stamps.
The main route goes on less used roads, gravel field roads and forest trails, and covers altogether 50.000 h.m. If you head in the recomended direction, it is possible to ride it almost entirely (for well prepared bikers). On some parts the trail is demanding, so the bike will have to be pushed, but never carried. The route passes important POIs of areas you go through, let it be cultural, historical or natural.
To the original route, additional challenges are added constantly, so that you can make small detours for more adrenaline (mostly, DH detours).
The route is designed in such a way, that it touches railway stations in many locations, in order to encourage you to arrive/depart by train (or other public transfers).
The official webpage will soon available in english language as well, but until that time, you can contact the caretakers on email@example.com
