From 9th August to 11th August 2019 the Bike Night Flachau will be in its ninth edition. Year after year, the mountain bike race enjoys greater popularity, because the combination of a floodlit race with a challenging circuit, intense downhill passages and a cool party atmosphere is unique in Austria.
For the ninth time in a row, Flachau and the Hermann Maier World Cup course will be the focus of the mountain bike scene during the Bike Night. From a sporting point of view, the extraordinary racing mode and the special atmosphere fascinate above all - it is not for nothing that the Bike Night Flachau is considered the Formula 1 among the mountain bike marathons: over a race duration of two hours, the participants try to master as many laps as possible and these are really tough: A spectacular downhill on the world-famous Hermann Maier World Cup course awaits the limited number of participants under glistening floodlights as well as a strenuous ascent spread over 4. 5km and 200m altitude difference per lap. The summer event counterpart to the Alpine Ski World Cup captivates every year with its unique spectator backdrop. Several thousand enthusiasts transform the venue into a true witch's cauldron. The Bike Night Flachau is also part of the Austrian Marathon Cup and thus joins the overall ranking with the renowned Austrian marathon and former World Cup locations around the Salzkammergut Trophy, the KitzAlpBike and the Graz Marathon in Stattegg.
The Bike Night Kidsrace has also established itself very well and will be part of the MTB Junior Challenge again in 2019.
