Starting from Kleinwalsertal, take gravel roads past Söllereck and Freibergsee. Mostly flat, only little gravel downhill to the lush Rappenalptal. From the end of this valley, up and over Schrofenpass by its famous via ferrata. Then a beautiful crossing on a technical track atop the pass. Down to Warth on the other side, and up along tarmac to Hochtannbergpass. From the highest point on tarmac, one must carry the bikes almost all the way up to Hochkrumbach pass.
On this tour, we took the longer path to Widdersteinhütte, adding some 150 hm and an extra traversing trail after the climb, to get to the proper descent path to Bärgundtal. It's highly recommended to take the path via Widdersteinalpe instead - less carryig...
At the Schrofenpass via ferrata the bike is carried; alternatively on one's left side or over head. It can be put down in places if a break is needed.
On top of Schrofenpass there is a beautiful trail with varied difficulty, S0-S3.
The most difficult part of the circuit is down to Bärgundtal, with extended S4 sections (elsewhere S3).
