West route - the east variant
The Westweg leads us from Pforzheim to Basel. On the eastern variant described here, we hike through the south side of the Wiesental valley into the Germany/Switzerland/France triangle.
High towering mountains, deep stagnant waters. Nowhere else in the German low mountain range does it go up as far as in the Black Forest, but the valleys also know how to impress with their charms. The route through the wonderful Wiesental valley is the less spectacular alternative to the route over the Feldberg and is somewhat longer and more relaxing than its counterpart. From Pforzheim, the route leads to the triangle of Germany, France and Switzerland, accompanied by beautiful natural relief and culturally rich towns.
