Alpine Panorama Trail
The Alpine Panorama Trail runs from east to west across Switzerland from Lake Constance to Lake Geneva.
As the name suggests, the Alpine Panorama Trail offers magnificent views of the Alpine peaks, the Swiss midlands and the Jura. From Lake Constance, the trail first passes through the Appenzell region and via the Einsiedler Hochtal into central Switzerland. The route continues through the Emmental, Schwarzenburg and Gruyère regions to the shores of Lake Geneva. On the shores of Lake Geneva, you then hike a good 90 km from Vevey (Corseaux) to Geneva. The first part of the route is characterised by the traditional cultural landscapes of the Pre-Alps: Alpine meadows, cheese, milk and cheese dishes in the mountain inns. The scattered settlements of the Pre-Alps, which can be traced back to the occupation of land by the Alemanni in the Middle Ages, are also part of the cultural landscape of the Pre-Alps. It is not until Lake Geneva that wine culture becomes dominant, and wherever you look you see vines and roam through vineyards.
