With a total length of 62.2 kilometres between Burg Lichtenberg and the town of Lauterecken, hikers should calculate at least three days for the entire tour.
Because the Veldenzer Wanderweg runs along many varied paths and different landscapes, the trail is divided into five stages. Here you can be at one with yourself: the natural trails, especially in the natural reserve area Naturschutzgebiet Mittagsfels, are almost alpine in nature. During the springtime there are pasqueflowers blooming and at the height of the trail, the views over the Glan valley and to the Preußischen Bergen are almost unbelievable . The Burg Lichtenberg, the Wasserburg in Reipoltskirchen with its sculptures path and Schloß Veldenz in Lauterecken bring back to life the history and culture of the Palatinate. And who knows, maybe you will encounter a few travelling musicians on the way?
