Where nature meets culture. Long distance hiking trail through the Netherlands that starts in Amsterdam, heads south towards 's Hertogenbosch and ends in Wezet (Visé). This Pilgrims' route connects several Dutch National and Nature Parks, but it surely also comes along many many churches, chapels, shrines and cathedrals.
My Pilgrims' route:
500 Kilometers, 4 non-hiking- and 23 hiking-days of which 3 were rainy. I crossed 4 provincies (5 if the I count the small part of Flanders in Belgium as well), took 4 ferries, had 5 friends coming over to join me for a day or two, 0 spiders in my tent, saw 2 deers (females), 1 squirrel and 5 lama’s. I slept 8 nights in a bed, paid a visit to 4 friends in Brabant and spend 2 nights at a strangers house.

For stories about my hike, check out my blog EVAdinarica Project.
Although the route is well marked, I used a GPS with the original GPX-track to navigate. I can recommend that to everyone who doesn't want to carry the hiking guidebook or maps.
For safe wildcamping there are the so called "paalkampeerplaatsen". They're free, but you have to know where to find them ;)
Always bring your rain jacket when hiking in The Netherlands.
