Or it is at least fair to say that if narrow, untouched ridge paths and views deep down into narrow valleys are what you like.
The whole thing is dotted with unique natural experiences and cultural-historical sights … and that’s the hiker's recipe for pure enjoyment. It does cost a little bit of effort, true, but as a reward, there's another refreshing lake just round the corner!
In Robertville itself there are things going on the whole year round. The traditional local village fêtes are particularly worthy of recommendation. With a branch on its north side, the reservoir borders directly on the place it got its name from, the village of Robertville. The hike takes you along the southern bank of the lake, which winds its way through the valley. This mixture of direct proximity to the water, quaint paths and tranquil locations is very charming indeed. And of course it easily persuades you to sit down and have another rest here or there.
Taking one's leave of this delightful lake is made somewhat easier by the certain knowledge that there's another reservoir in Bütgenbach to bring joy to all water lovers who also like walking. On the way there, you go along the untouched Warche on trails that are easy to walk. On the other hand, however, you need sensible shoes for the section from Plattenberg to Weywertz, because there's some coarse gravel to be negotiated here.
Burg Reinhardstein – guided tours possible at weekends and on bank holidays. And there's a little restaurant there with regional products too.
