Across the Alps from south to north: the Yellow Trail of the Via Alpina leads through landscapes rich in contrasts from the Italian Adriatic to the Dolomites and the Austrian Central Alps to Oberstdorf in the Allgäu.

The Via Alpina is a network of five long-distance hiking trails that cross the entire Alpine region – and thus the most diverse natural and cultural environments –. The Yellow Trail runs for around 800 km from the Adriatic coast through the Julian Alps and the Dolomites to Bolzano, then on over the Similaun Pass into the Austrian Ötztal and up to the mountain pastures of the Allgäu. On the way there are sometimes very long stages with large differences in altitude, so the Yellow Trail is suitable for experienced long-distance hikers with good physical fitness. Some of the most beautiful landscapes in the Alps lie along the Yellow Trail. Legendary Dolomite peaks such as the Marmolata, the Catinaccio and the Sciliar have always impressed countless alpinists, while the rugged, lonely mountain world of the Julian Alps has a charm of its own for nature lovers and explorers. Hi, is there an indication on the difficulty of the variuos stages somewhere (on the scale T, E, EE, EEA)? The difficulty level indicated on the official website (1-3) is more diffilcult to interpret (is 3 difficult just because of altitude gain, or is equipment needed?). I am in particular interested in stages B22-B26.
