Lots of interesting facts about wandering musicians are offered by two museums in the region: The Musikantenland Museum at Burg Lichtenberg at the starting point of the trail and the Westpfalz Musikantenmuseum in Mackenbach. The tradition of musicians on the hike, is like no other than in the Westpfalz.
The road from Niederstaufenbach to Bosenbach has a special meaning for both villages. On these paths the bodies of those who had died were carried on horse carts to the cemetery in Bosenbach – even today known as the gravedigger’s path.
The tower of the Wolfskirch stands in the middle of the cemetery in Bosenbach, on a site of the original village. The interior is decorated with exceptional Romanesque wall and vault paintings from the first half of the 14th century. They show the Last Judgement, the Last Supper and Christ's Entry into Jerusalem. The figure of Christ on the Palm Donkey represents an iconographic peculiarity - a visit to which is therefore very worthwhile.

Especially in the fall is also necessary to ensure that the leaves lying on the ground can conceal irregularities, roots, rocks or holes in the road. With paths impairments of this kind you can expect when you take a hike. Should you be of the opinion that these are not accessible to you in particular cut, then you should get round. Especially in adverse weather conditions, it may be muddy and slippery passages come in natural ways.

At the southern entrance of the Föckelberg we leave the game park behind us and turn east into the village. On the way out of the village, we enjoy again the extensive views over the valley of the Reichenbach right up to the Selberg, before we start a steep descent - 210 m along a 2.2 km trail .
When we reach the Oberstaufenbach mill we then cross through the village and walk towards Niederstaufenbach. Here there is a connecting path to the Musikantenland trail of the Weilerbach community.
Behind Niederstaufenbach the Remigius Wanderweg leads up to the Walbersberg. From the top of the hill, the church in Bosenbach can already be seen from afar.
We continue in the very densely forested area of Trautmannsberg. Such dense forests have become rare in modern times so that the beautiful paths will take us into a landscape reminiscent of fairy tales and legends of past time.
The trail then climbs up a height of more than 200 metres before we reach the access path leading to the Bosenbacher Sportplatz which takes us back to our trail destination in the valley again.
