Distance 298 km
We start our hike in Roder in Luxembourg. The path leads us to the border river Our between Germany and Luxembourg. Here our path branches into two variations.
The southern variant of the Meuse-Rhine Trail runs in a southerly direction along the Our to the Vianden reservoir. It then continues via Neuerburg, Bitburg and Kyllburg to Mürlenbach, where the two paths join up again.
From here, our route leads right across the varied, enchanting landscape of the Eifel. Via Gerolstein, Daun, Ulmen and Mayen, we reach the Weinfelder Maar near Daun, which invites us to take an extensive break. Passing the Meersfelder Maar near Manderscheid, we hike on to the Pulvermaar near Gillenfeld and the largest volcanic lake in the Eifel, the Laacher See.
At Andernach we finally meet the Rhine and have reached the destination of our hike.
