The middle route leads timber frame lovers from Mosbach on the southern foothills of the Odenwald to Meersburg on the shores of Lake Constance.
Our tour begins in the romantic Mosbach with its winding alleys. Along the banks of the Neckar we drive through the Heilbronn region to Eppingen. The city with its magnificent half-timbered houses can look back on a thousand-year history. Through the orchards and the beautiful vineyards of the Stromberg-Heuchelberg Nature Park we continue to the wine villages of Bönnigheim and Besigheim before reaching the old town of Bietigheim along the Enz River. From the banks of the Enz, the third stage takes us through the Strohgäu and through places steeped in history such as Ditzingen and Leonberg to Herrenberg. Then we branch off to the southern foothills of the half-timbered road and reach the foot of the Swabian Alb. Among the jewels are the centre of Nehren and the flower town of Mössingen. From medieval Trochtelfingen we continue the tour in the heart of the Swabian Alb, past the Zwiefalten monastery, and reach the next stage destination with Riedlingen. From the Alb we then reach the Upper Swabia region, the "Baroque Kingdom of Heaven", before we start our last stage from Pfullendorf through the Linzgau to Meersburg.
At the end of the tour we enjoy a glass of wine and the Mediterranean flair of the "Swabian Sea" (Lake of Constance).
