Since the last ice age, the Inn has flowed through the valley left behind by a glacier. It is fed with glacier water and has been shaping the valley floor of the Oberes Gericht area with its power as well as with stones and wood for thousands of years. Along its course it connects the valley’s villages and inhabitants, and even now plays a role as a transport artery – as in the case of timber rafting and log driving, for example, and also the Via Claudia Augusta, parts of which follow the river valley.
Animals and plants have also used the natural habitats by the sides of every living river since time immemorial and continue to do so today, following them as migration corridors. The river creates life and destroys it elsewhere at the same time, maintaining a constant state of balance over prolonged periods.
FUTOURIST organises dinghy adventure trips with a focus on the river itself and its nature, allowing visitors to explore and experience the power of the Inn for themselves. It’s an offer that goes a step beyond the usual adrenaline rush from physical activity.
