Experience two national parks and Joutenvesi nature reserve on the same the same voyage! The route has been one of the most popular canoeing routes in the area since 1996.
The route runs almost all the time in the habitat of Saimaa ringed seal and changes of admiring this beautiful animal in its own surroundings and in its own element is very good. There are plenty of other things to see along the route such as the 5000-year-old rock paintings of Ukonvuori Hill, which tell about the ancient people who fished and hunted in the area. These are home waters also for the majestic osprey.
This route is demanding or intermediate depending on route and chosen type of vessel. The total length of the route is approximately 130 kilometres and requires good planning and suitable equipment. You can spend the night camping at one of the many campsites along the route, at a hotel in Oravi or an eco-hostel on the main island of Linnansaari National Park.
The route suits best for those paddlers, who have experience of changing weather conditions, windy waters or long day trips (over 10 km).
