The Lake of Constance to Spain - an epic adventure on horseback
This trail is a horse riding route walked and created by two riders with their horses. Route overview: Freiburg - Vachères en Quint - Pyrenees - Llandes - short detour to Spain- Contis, France.
The route first leads from Constance (at the Lake of Constance) to Freiburg, in the Black Forest. The second major stage destination is Vachères en Quint, a beautiful, rural village in the middle of the Vercors mountains. The route then continues towards the Pyrenees and then to the west coast of France. The last stage leads through the extraordinary pine forests of the Landes, along sandy paths, until finally reaching the sea at Contis les Bains.

Safety information
This route runs along narrow paths, steep mountain slopes, meadows and asphalt. Depending on the weather, parts are difficult to walk. Beforehand, be sure to plan in detail and be aware that there are many meters of altitude and challenging terrain, which requires experience and surefootedness.
