A medium-distance walk leading almost always on wide dirt or asphalt roads, during which we can explore the charming holiday area of Verőce, we can enjoy a quiet meal in a restaurant, and we can survey the majestic Danube Bend from an unexpected angle.
If we only have a couple of hours, and we do not want to (or cannot) dress for a serious hike, we can do a pleasant round tour from Verőce to the two characteristic holiday areas of the village, Magyarkút and Aranyoskút. Our route mostly goes among weekend houses, on wide dirt or asphalt roads, there is only one section after the Aranyoskút lookout spot where it leads on a narrower path, so it does not require any special equipment.
We can take a short rest at Irma Spring in Magyarkút, recharge our energies in the garden of the “Kocsma a pipáshoz” restaurant, then we will walk by the Gonzága Szent Alajos tourist chapel built in the 1930s. But the main attraction of our tour is definitely the Aranyoskút lookout spot: We can enjoy an unusual panorama of the Danube Bend, having a clear view of the Visegrád Citadel and the Visegrád Hills behind it.
The route does not require special equipment. Wear non-slip shoes and take drinking water with you, and use Természetjáró App (Trekking app) for navigation.
