The starting point for this hike around the Wöllaner rock summit is "Plagrast," 1800 meters above sea level. From here you follow the road uphill until "Fliegerkurve"- in the right conditions you can observe model airplanes being flown here. At this curve you leave the toll road and follow the path marked 164 (part of the Alpa-Adria-Trail). This path is quite steep at first but flattens out as you get closer to the Wöllaner rock summit (2090 meters). The path now takes you over a large hollow to the north to the main summit (2145 meters). The descent follows path number 163 to "Walder Hütte" (open) and further to Geiger Hut (open). From there you take the main road back to the parking lot in Plagrast.
You can reach Arriach with the postal busses- from the city centre you can reach the starting point by foot.
Take the A10 highway, exit "Ossiacher See," past Treffen to Arriach. From there follow the signs towards "Laastadt" and "Wöllaner Nock."
There are plenty of parking spots available by the starting point.
