A beautiful one or two day tour through the northern part of the black forest.
A beautiful tour that has everything to offer: trails, huts, restaurants, views, bogs and lakes. The ascent is similar to the Westweg stage, with the path back to the rear Murg valley. This also allows an easy arrival and departure by train.
Definitely take a break at the Wegscheidhütte (which is well worth a stay) & enjoy the view on the Hornisgrinde.
The Westweg climb is sometimes a bit steep, but should be also fun for children. For people who prefer more forest / forest roads, the ascent is not really suitable.
No special equipment required, except sturdy shoes.
More information about Hornisgrinde can be found here: https://www.seebach-tourismus.de/47-0-Die+Hornisgrinde+im+Schwarzwald.html and additional information about the Black Forest Nature Park North / North can be found here: https://www.naturparkschwarzwald.de/ .
In addition to the train, can also be reached by car. This can be parked in Forbach near the train station and the next day from Schönmünzach to Forbach back by train.
There is a parking lot directly at Netto/the train station, where you can actually park at the weekend without problems. Optionally, there are several smaller free parking options in the city.
