From Freizeit Arena a steeply ascending path takes you up to the hamlet of Grünwald. There you follow the precipitous forest trail to the Hochsölden federal road until you reach the turn-off to Gampe Alm. Via lovely Gampe Alm you walk southwards along the signposted and slightly ascending trail that leads, past Hühnersteig'n, to panoramic Rettenbachalm.
It is recommended to wear hiking equipment such as breathable and weather-adapted outdoor clothing, ankle-high mountain boots, wind, rain and sun protection, cap and possibly gloves. It is also important to have enough food, as well as a first-aid package, a cell phone and a hiking map.
From the Sölden / Kirche steep path to the local part of Grünwald, further steep forest path to Hochsöldenstraße to the junction Gampe Alm. Over the Gampe Alm further south to the marked trail, slightly ascending at the Hühnersteig'n continue ascending to Rettenbachalm.
Enjoy a both comfortable and relaxing train ride to the train station in Ötztal Bahnhof. You get off the train in ÖTZTAL Bahnhof where you change to a public bus or local taxi. The current bus schedule can be found at: http://fahrplan.vvt.at
