Take the Acherkogelbahn to the Hochoetz alpine region, where you will start at the Panoramarestaurant (2020 m) from there a broad hiking trail towards the Kühtailealm (1988 m). Afterwards you continue on the way to the Balbachalm (1957 m) To the Bielefelder Hütte (2150 m) where you descend again to the starting point Panoramarestaurant (2020 m).
It is recommended to wear hiking equipment such as breathable and weather-adapted outdoor clothing, ankle-high mountain boots, wind, rain and sun protection, cap and possibly gloves. It is also important to have enough food, as well as a first-aid package, a cell phone and a hiking map.
From the valley station of the Ochsengarten gondola lift a forest trail leads to the Hochoetz alpine region on the right. First you reach the Kühtaile Alm, where you can continue to the Bielefelderhütte or the Balbachalm. From the Balbachalm a hiking trail leads directly back to Ochsengarten.
Enjoy a both comfortable and relaxing train ride to the train station in Ötztal Bahnhof. You get off the train in ÖTZTAL Bahnhof where you change to a public bus or local taxi. The current bus schedule can be found at: http://fahrplan.vvt.at
