The accessible trail allows everyone to enjoy the lovely views by Lake Harjujärvi and breathe the fresh pine forest air. The campfire hut makes the trip great even on a rainy day!
The accessible Harjujärvi trail runs from the shore of Lake Harjujärvi to Lake Turasenlampi. The round trip is 700 m / each way. The accessible Harjujärvi trail is part of the 2.2-km Luupään Lenkki Trail.
The campfire hut at Harjujärvi offers a great place to stop for a snack with its campfire and accessible dry toilet facilities. The trail first follows the shore of Lake Harjujärvi and then turns to the forest to reach Lake Turasenlampi. The trail is a dirt track, covered with pine needles fallen from the trees, and there is a slight ascent at the beginning.
Things to see
The route description was created in the #Keski-Suomen retkeilyreitit maailmankartalle project, funded by Central Finland's Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development: Europe investing in rural areas.
The trail is accessible for prams, pushchairs and wheelchairs (when assisted).
Level of difficulty
The trail is easy for walkers. However, for wheelchair users the trail is demanding and assistance is required for the trip. For the most part, the trail follows a dirt road and there is a slight ascent on the way. At the northern end of the trail is an accessible bridge and jetty by Lake Turasenlampi.
There is a map of the area at Harjujärvi campfire hut. The trail is marked with blue paint marks and there is signage along the way.
Please note: If you travel with a pram or pushchair, for example, you can park your car in the Kirveslampi parking area, 650 m away from the Harjujärvi campfire hut and the starting point of the accessible route - just remember to arrange for key pick-up in advance. Note that there is a long and fairly steep downhill section on the road from the Kirveslampi parking area to the campfire hut.
Good to know
Pay attention to forest fire warnings that are announced during dry periods – see Finnish Meteorological Institute (en.ilmatieteenlaitos.fi). Campfires may not be lit anywhere during forest fire warnings, so use a camping stove instead.

The Harjujärvi campfire hut is accessible by car or taxi for the disabled, but there is a barrier on the road. A key to the barrier can be collected from the Röykkälä sheep farm (www.lammastila.com, in Finnish, address Harjunlahdentie 760). Please arrange collection of the key in advance.
