Beautiful hike to the holy mountain of the Samis
About 500 m above Kilpisjärvi the west face of the mountain Saana is steeply sloping. On the moderately difficult hiking trip we climb the 1029 m high rocky summit. The trail is always well maintained. Nice paths, steps and Fjell trails take us to the summit and later on to the lake Saanajärvi. We can enjoy a great view over the magnificent adjoining Swedish and Norwegian mountains. The Saanajärvi is situated in a small valley formed by glaciers. Our hike leads along the western shore of the lake, surrounds the mountain Saana until we return to our starting point in Kilpisjärvi.
Who like to do the tour in two days, can stay in the hut at the lake Saanajärvi.
