Centre of Bovec
This relatively long trail starts and ends in the centre of the town of Bovec. Initially, you walk along the renowned AAT trail. At the Plužna accumulation lake (above the Virje Waterfall and next to the Srnica Adrenaline park) the trail starts to gradually ascend towards the Poljance clearing where you arrive to a monument dedicated to the fallen Partisans and the first sightseeing point with wonderful views of the Bovec Basin. The trail turns back into the forest and to the next clearing where you only have to overcome a few bends to arrive to the end of the forest road beneath the peak called Kopa. This point offers one of the most beautiful views of the Bovec Basin, Mt. Svinjak and Mt. Bavški Grintavec in the background. You continue along the gravel road for approximately 1.5 km to the foothills of the mighty Mt. Veliki Skedenj where you start to descend along the hiking trail towards Mt. Kanin. After you arrive back to the gravel road towards Station B of the Mt. Kanin cableway you leave the hiking trail and return along the road back to the centre of the town Bovec. At certain sections, all walking efforts are repaid by splendid views of the Bovec Basin below.
