Today you will traverse the steep volcanic terrain around the famous landmark of Roque Nublo.
The Roque Nublo may not be the highest peak on Gran Canaria but it is the most identifiable, as it is visible from almost anywhere on the island. Follow steep paths zigzagging up toward Roque Nublo. As you get higher, gaze hundreds of meters down steeply eroded ravines. On the descent follow a different route through a peaceful pine forest before catching a bus back to Tejeda.
(The Macs App follows the longest version of this route, completing the circular route and walking back to Tejeda. Please see route notes for instructions on the shorter option, which involves taking a bus from WP 20 on your hard copy map after descending Roque Nublo.)
