A circular walking route that runs around Lake Valkeinen.
The views along this route are breathtaking, as Lake Valkeinen remains visible for the entire time. This easy-to-walk route can be recommended to the whole family, even though the rocky section at the beginning of the route may be somewhat slow to travel for the smallest members of the family. Halfway along the route, there is a rest area that is equipped with a regular and an overnight lean-to, a campfire site, and an outhouse. Along the route, there are also nature’s own benches (tree trunks) that can be used for sitting and taking in the view. The game restaurant Riistaravintola Pikku Peura and the Valkeisjärven leirintäalue camping site are good places to start the hike.
The first part of the route is to be travelled along duckboards and a rocky forest path crisscrossed by roots.
Safety instructions and guidelines for various situations are available at: www.luontoon.fi/retkeilynabc
A wide accessible route runs from the Riistaravintola Pikku Peura restaurant to the lakeside campfire site, so persons with wheelchairs and pushchairs will also be able to enjoy the views over Lake Valkeinen.
