Over the sunny heights of Blasenflue and Moosegg

Magnificent high-altitude hike over the ridges of the wooded Blasenflue and the panoramic Moosegg. The starting and finishing points of the hike are in stately Emmental villages with remarkable rural buildings. On the way, unique views of the Aare valley, the Emme and Ilfis valleys and the Alpine rim. Sections on hard surface.

From Zäziwil station, first to the village centre and, following the road into the valley, to the wooded rib of the Bueleberg. A narrow path leads very steeply up to the edge of the forest. On the way, a beautiful view back over the church village of Zäziwil (the name is interpreted as a settlement of the Alemanni Zazo) to the Stockhorn. On leaving the forest, you have the forest crest of the Blasenflue directly ahead. Now the path descends for the time being to the houses of Chäneltal. The hamlet is part of the extensive municipality of Oberthal on this side and the other side of the Zäzibach, which, as a distinct single-farm area, has no actual centre.
In a gentle up and down, the trail follows a distinctive road loop to the houses of Längibach and then, alternately on tracks and forest paths, up to the Blasenflue. The formerly excellent vantage point becomes increasingly constricted by the forest. Beautiful views of the Napfbergland, Langnau and Oberemmental are still possible. The descent along the wooded edge of the slope to the Waldhäusern inn is quite rough. The view from the inn to the Churzenberg, the Rämisgummen area and the crown of peaks of the Pre-Alps and Alps is almost limitless. The nearby Hotel Moosegg also offers a delightful view of the hilly world of the Emmental.
The further trail to Hinter Längholz deserves the distinction of being a "panorama trail". Only the asphalt detracts somewhat from this enjoyment. The descent past the Burgchnubel farm to the Unter Burg farmstead and Lauperswil is pleasant. The group of buildings - church, rectory with vicarage and oven house - is listed in the inventory of cultural assets of national importance. The Emme riverbank is reached by a flat path. The hike along the lakeside path to Zollbrück is relaxing.
