Hiking Route
· WIESBADEN RHEINGAU
moderate
Distance 13.2 km
On the challenging hike to the Marienthal pilgrimage monastery, numerous highlights and magnificent views await us on the Rheinsteig.
From Assmannshausen we walk uphill to the Niederwald hunting lodge. Walking past the Zauberhöhle, we then come to the Rittersaal viewpoint and the Niederwald monument. The trail takes us downhill to the Abbey of St. Hildegard, before we have to walk uphill again to the Antonius Chapel. Afterwards we soon reach the pilgrimage monastery of Marienthal. From there a bus takes us to the railway station in Geisenheim and we return to our starting point in Assmannshausen by train.
