The route begins in Vittorio Veneto and immediately enters a path surrounded by nature that leads us to the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Salute, a church dating back to 1224, year in which it was reported in one of Gabriele Da Camino's testaments. For the construction of the church, it was used the famous "piera dolza", a stone extracted from the nearby Grotte del Caglieron. In the 1930s the sanctuary was magically saved from an earthquake, which caused the collapse of the entire slope. Besides being a church of historical and religious significance, it becomes an excellent view point from which to take several photos of the underlying Vittorio Veneto and not only. The path continues uphill, always accompanied by an excellent view behind, gradually more and more impressive due to the increase in altitude.

Turn-by-turn directions

From the car park at the Costa roundabout in Vittorio Veneto, go towards the roundabout, cross the road and turn right onto via Dalmazia, at the first street turn left and reach the path that goes up to the church of the Madonna della Salute. When you reach the church, pass it and continue on the path beyond the fence, turning right. After a few hundred meters, at the crossroads, continue on the path to the left that goes on a slight slope and leads to the western limit of the Costa di Fregona, from here you go up for a short steep stretch and reach the path that runs along the ridge. At the end of the coast, after about 2.5 km from the start, you will come to a crossroads. To make a detour to Borgo Breda di Fregona to visit the Grotte del Caglieron, turn right. While to be able to observe the non-tourist caves and continue our tour choose the left path that remains at high altitude. For a few tens of meters, you will find on the right traces that slip into the vegetation, due to the passage of curious visitors to “take a look at the ancient caves” less famous than those present in the Parco Grotte del Caglieron. After a water collection tank on the left, take the path on the left that goes down to via Sfadigà in loc. Piadera di Fregona. Turn left and immediately follow the path to the left with the signs for horse trail no. 5 that arrives at the access road to the San Mamante ranch, cross it and take the grassy road that passes a huge poplar and enters the woods. From here the mule track continues through dense woodland and meadows with grazing animals until it returns cemented. After the village in loc. Rindola Alta, where you can admire stone plaques on the stables with the date of construction engraved, turn left and take the path again with the indication of the TV 5 horse trail. After passing the fence with donkeys, cows and goats, continue along the main road, initially cemented, then back to a dirt road, until you reach a nice residential neighbourhood. At the crossroads with the sign indicating the routes of the Treviso bridleways go left, past a villa with indoor swimming pool, turn left onto via Cesare Beccaria, until you return to via Dalmazia. When you reach the main road, turn left to return to the car park.
