The Vienna Apple Strudel Trail is an Apple Strudel tasting tour through 4 historic Viennese Coffee houses from the area near the Westbahnhof to the area of Karlsplatz in Vienna.
We start our apple strudel trail in Cafe Westend, which is located opposite the Westbahnhof. It is housed in a building built by architect Prihoda in 1899. The Apple Strudel trail continues on the apple strudel path along Mariahilfer Straße to Cafe Ritter. The Kaffee Ritter is also a typical Viennese corner coffee house, which is set back from Mariahilfer Strasse on the corner of Schadekgasse and Amerlingstrasse since 1887. Like the Cafe Westend, it was built in historic style. The interior of the Café Ritter dates from the early 20th century and has largely been preserved. The next Apple Strudel trail Cafe is the Cafe Sperl, also a corner coffee house, which, like the Cafe Ritter, is a protected building. The Cafe Sperl was opened in 1880, furnished with Thonet chairs and crystal chandeliers. The Viennese apple strudel coffee house tour ends in the Cafe Museum on Karlsplatz. It is located in the corner building at Friedrichstrasse / Operngasse that was already built in 1872.
Let yourself be tempted on your way through the Naschmarkt. Would you like an apple or a few nuts with some cheese and a glass of wine?
