This itinerary, which develops exclusively on a path, will make you discover the fortified mountain of Castel Cesil situated close to Monte Palone and Monte Tomba, the latter being called "the Last Peak". It is a real open-air museum brought back to light thanks to the precious restoration work carried out by the volounteers group Alpini di Possagno, which will make you live the emotions of the First World War before the victory on the Piave front. The route nr. 212 climbs up the ridge until it reaches the alpine pastures offering breathtaking views stretching from Trieste to the Venice Lagoon. Once you reach Cima Mandrie it is possible to continue along the "Sentiero delle Meatte" or enjoy a pleasant stop to taste the typical products of the alpine huts.
