After the Stutzji in Simplon Dorf and about 800 m Napoleon road, the path turns left and leads through meadows to the floodplain forest of Laggiina am Gabi.
Here the ascent begins on the historic Stockalperweg (600 m above sea level) over the Feerbäärg, past the small, unique chapel and grazing herds of cattle to the Furggu pass.
At the first rest, the hiker enjoys the view back into the Simplon Valley. To the south, the Zwischbergental opens up with views over the Monschära Pass to Italy. The path turns right and climbs a further 200m in the direction of Guggili. The legendary Laggintal valley opens up. On the flat high-level trail, the sight of the Lagginhorn and the Weissmies with their steep flanks and hanging glaciers is overwhelming. At the deep blue, idyllic lake, many hikers enjoy an aperitif at a hidden spring. The sound of the waterfall of the young Laggiina and the marmot whistles replace the iPod and radio. The descent takes you to Gabi or Simplon Dorf.
