Suitability
The trail is wheelchair-accessible, which means that it can be travelled in a wheelchair or with a pram.
Difficulty level
There are no steep rises on the trail, but the hillier areas make the trail challenging to negotiate in a wheelchair. The surface of the trail is either an easily passable dirt road or a path surfaced with stone dust, wide enough to travel in a wheelchair. There are also places where two people in wheelchairs can pass each other. There are railings and handrails as well as landings for resting at the steepest sections of the trail. There are two shortcuts along the trail.

Trail description
The Maahisenkierros trail starts next to the Solvalla sports field, after which it climbs into the woods. This wheelchair-accessible forested trail meanders through rocky terrain and pine forest on top of the ridge, until it arrives at the top of Nuuksio. The look-out point on the trail offers beautiful views over the surrounding nature and Lake Pitkäjärvi in Nuuksio. The Finnish Nature Centre Haltia, which presents a comprehensive view of the Finnish nature with the help of modern technology, is located close to the starting point of the trail.
Good to know
If you are travelling clockwise on the trail, be careful at the crossing points. The trail travels over a high ridge, but there is no immediate danger of falling. In addition to the Maahisenkierros trail, there is also the 1.4 km Päivättärenpolku trail close to Haltia. The numerous trails of the Nuuksio National Park are also less than four kilometres away, and all of them start at the Haukkalampi Nature House.
