Hiking tour on diversified paths from Wright Lake across the Rockbound Pass on over 8,500 ft (2600 m) to Lake Lois

The tour takes us over the Rockbound Trail into the heart of Desolation Wilderness south-west of Lake Tahoe. The nature reserve is located in the county El Dorado in California and is characterized by its innumerable picturesque mountain lakes, bare granite as well as by its individual conifers and bushes. Starting point of our tour is Rockbound Trailhead, which is directly situated by the idyllic Wrights Lake on more than 6,950 ft (2130 m). The crystal clear lake which is surrounded by pines is a popular local recreation area and starting point for many hiking tours into Desolation Wilderness. We pass Beauty Lake and the picturesque Maud Lake via a steadily ascending path which takes its course through light forests and rocky terrain. The path gets more difficult as soon as we cross the rocky Rockbound Passes on which we reach the deep-blue Doris Lake. The last stop on our tour is the remote Lake Lois. We rest there for a while and enjoy the atmosphere before heading back.
