Walking with Offa - If you’re looking for some spectacular views, glimpses of history, wildlife and archaeology and a foaming pint of ale in a cosy country pub, then this is one of twelve walks for you. The walks are designed to make it easy for you to support local country pubs, cafes and shops and to enjoy the Shropshire Hills. You can even leave your car behind as all walks are possible to access by public transport.
The Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is recognised as one of Britain’s finest landscapes. The stunning scenery includes the craggy Stiperstones and Wrekin, Wenlock Edge and the Clee Hills, the wide open spaces and hidden valleys of the Long Mynd, and peaceful river valleys such as the Clun and the Onny. There is walking to suit all abilities, across heather and rough hill tops, through meadows and secret woods, with a mewing buzzard overhead often the loudest sound. A rich border heritage with hillforts and castles goes along with towns and villages of great character, a friendly welcome and some fantastic food and festivals.

More walks and Viewranger routes can be found at www.shropshirewalking.co.uk.
To get the best from your walk we recommend comfortable walking boots (not trainers), waterproof jacket & overtrousers, warm clothing, gloves and warm hat or sun cream and sun hat (depending on the season!), a mobile phone and snacks, water and a hot drink.
Sheep and cattle are often in the fields on these routes – Dogs must be kept under close control or on leads at all times.
