Lovely stroll through the woods to visit the Iron Age Hill Fort and back via Sand Bay and Monk's Steps
moderate
Distance 8.7 km
Start: End of Worlebury Hill Road
The walk takes you through the ancient woods of Worlebury and onto the Iron Age Hill Fort which unusually has around 100 storage pits once used for storing coins, burials and animal bones.
After the hillfort the walk continues west, down steps to the park above Birnbeck Pier. The return route heads along the road for a short distance, once a toll road, and up through the lower slopes of Worlebury and down to Sand Bay.
After a stroll along the sea front the route then heads away from the coast down the access road to Pontins Holiday Camp and across country to Kewstoke church and up Monk's Steps and back to the start.
