This is a lovely short walk starting at Wick Village Hall, the route heads through the still active workings of Wick Quarry, circling around the quarry along Cleeve Lane, returning via Golden Valley, the site of the ruins of the old Golden Valley Ochre Works.
Ochre is a pigment used in the production of dyes And paints, in Golden Valley the ochre is red, but it can be found in a variety of colours.
