U3A WALK Queniborough

Starting from the pub car park turn right and then right again into Mere Lane. Just before the end of the cul de sac take the marked path on the right. Follow the path through a couple of fields with horses (they seemed friendly enough when we walked it). The path from here is straight but not well marked after ploughing. Cross Ridgemoor Lane to the path opposite. Turn left onto a track and follow this through Barkby Holt until you reach Ridgemoor Lane again . There is a short cut if you take the path opposite Barkby Hall Farm, which reduces the walk to about 4.2 Miles. Follow the lane until you reach the first path on the right, which returns you to Queniborough. Lunch in the Britannia is good value with 2 for £7.95 and £8.95 offers when we ate there (Nov 2017)
